Esta compañía noruega anunció el nuevo lanzamiento su EMP 2 en su linea Classic es un reproductor que reproducirá Blu-ray en 2D y 3D, CD, SACD, DVD y DVD Audio.

Reproductores Bluray de Pioneer que gustarán al audiófilo

Es interesante notar que tal vez sin haber recibido el reconocimiento debido Pioneer siempre procura lanzar productos que satisfacen al usuario promedio pero también tiene en cuenta a ese otro tipo de usuario: el audiófilo. Desde los días del DVD Pioneer se ocupó como pocas de brindar reproductores universales para DVD-A y SACD y hoy, por lo menos en Europa y tal vez eventualmente en América sus nuevos reproductores Bluray mantienen ese principio de universalidad, siendo capaces de reproducir MKV, DivX Plus HD, WMV, WMA, MP3 y JPG pero también DVD-Audio y SACD. SIn duda a tener en cuenta los modelos BDP- 440 y BDP- LX55 que es de gama alta, sus precios son además relativamente favorables.

Reproductor HDCD y DVD-Audio a un precio ridículo

Hace unos días me encontré este sencillo reproductor DVD, al revisarlo a detalle cambió mi parecer, no pretendería mucho de el en términos audiófilos generales, sería tal vez abusivo, pero el equipo no necesita favores o piedad, en general tiene capacidad para un buen número de formatos, MP3 y WMA asi como VCD, Kodak CD, MPEG 4, CD y otros, pero en audio lo que me resultó interesante es que este equipo cuenta con capacidad para reproducir discos HDCD así como DVD-Audio, DAC 24bit/192kHz, salidas digitales óptica y coaxial y salida de audio variable con opción de silencio. Esto por si solo sonaría como un solido reproductor de CD, dejando de lado marcas y apariencias. Más aún, por el ridículo precio de 250 Pesos creo que nada se pierde al considerar este reproductor para un sistema bajo un mini presupuesto. Añadan un DAC como un Bellari o alguno otro económico y tal vez obtengan un mejor desempeño a un precio ínfimo.

Al momento puedo comentar que funciona bien, al menos con DVD, para audio no lo he probado aun pero me tiene interesado el descubrir que puede hacer.

Un reproductor SACD olvidado: Sherwood SD-871

Sherwood USA la compañia emparentada con Targa Car Audio y propiedades ambas de la coreana Inkel tiene por ahí en su catálogo un reproductor de Super Audio CD (SACD) al que pocos parecen tenerle en cuenta. Les dejo aquí el dato por si alguien está en busca de un reproductor de este tipo.

Aunque el precio de lista es de 449.95 USD ya lo puede uno encontrar en Amazon en un precio de 250 USD.

Más aun, que este equipo no sea purista en términos audiófilos implica para el usuario más general acceso a más formatos y características:

JVC en Japón lanza un real y absoluto reproductor universal

JVC SR-HV250: Reproductor super universal que reproduce Blu-ray y además CD, SACD, DVD disco duro 250GB doble sintonizador entrada USB y por si fuera poco VHS. Modo multicopiado en VHS, DVD y Bluray. ¿ Se necesita más ? Barato no es, por 3000 USD podria uno comprar todo por separado, mal calculo comercial de JVC.

Un buen reproductor de CD en esta epoca de resurgimiento de DACs...

Ahora abundan los DACs, estado solido, mosfet, a bulbos con USB, todos pensando en medios de almacenamiento masivo, pero si revisamos los catálogos veremso cada vez menos reproductores para CD's de calidad por lo que creo que sería muy interesante dad la extensa oferta de DACs y para quien busca un buen reproductor de CD combinar un lector más un DAC, pero lectores de calidad hay pocos pues aun usar un reproductor convencional de DVD suele ser arriesgado dado que muchos productos han visto la calidad decrecer en aras de un precio reducido. Así pues las opciones son pocas para encontrar un lector dedicado, solo pienso en tomar algo de TEAC/TASCAM de sus lineas Contractor o Studio o este HBB UDP-89, un equipo que por si mismo ofrece lectura universal pero que creo funcionaría mejor aun con un buen DAC dada su construcción. Ya lo comente antes pero no está de más repasarlo.

BATTERY POWERED MULTI PLAYER
Xandra MP is our top of the line cd-player and it also plays SA-CD and DVD-video both in stereo and multi channel. Unlike many other multi format players the Xandra MP does not use a switch mode power supply, but rather a good old fashioned linear power supply backed up with battery power.
Like other holfi products the analogue section is a single ended / non feedback design. The virtual center speaker (VCS) – a unique holfi feature – allows you to play full surround sound without the use of a center speaker - and even better sound quality.

BATTERY POWER
There is a rumour among hi-fi enthusiasts that multi format players do not play CD´s well. This rumour is mostly true, and the reason is (in our experience) that they use a switch mode power supply, which is cheap, easy to make and generates much less heat than a conventional power supply. In our experience it is however not usable for high quality audio and that is the reason why we do not want switch mode power supplies in our products. The effort that was put into the power supply is matched by the analogue amplifier section , which avoids the use of global feedback, and is built discrete and single ended with the best possible components.
